Introducing The RSS Recycled Rubber Base
Developed by and exclusive to RSS, Recycled Rubber Base, is a ground reinforcement system binder base which utilises stone and recycled granulated rubber car tyres.
The majority of used UK tyres are sent overseas and dumped in landfill, where toxins are allowed to leach into soil and water or event worse, burnt producing harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
On an average 40m2 driveway using the RSS Recycle Rubber Base more than 200 waste vehicle tyres are used.
Our SUDS Compliant Recycle Rubber Base can drain up to 25 litres of surface water per metre to mitigate the impact of urban flooding.
Urban Flooding as a result of climate change is now seen as an urgent issue for consumers and the environment agency. As such, surface water management systems have become a priority for the UK (and globally). Permeable surfaces, such a Resin bound fully comply with the Sustainable Urban Drainage Regulations put in place to mitigate the impact of urban flooding.
Resin surfaces can drain up to 25 litres of surface water per metre, per second when correctly installed on our Recycled Rubber Base).
In association with CS Recycling, RSS Recycle all plastic bags used when installing a Resin Bound Surface are fully recycled unlike many other Resin Bound Installers that put their plastic waste into landfill.
Most plastics end up on landfill sites where they take around 300 years to photodegrade. They break down into tiny toxic particles that contaminate the soil and waterways and enter the food chain when animals accidentally ingest them.
Recyclable Metal Resin Kegs
Unlike 95% of other Resin Bound installers that use plastic resin containers that cannot be recycled & have to put into landfill that take around 300 years to photodegrade. At RSS we use metal resin keggs that can be recycled to eventually reverse the damage that humans have done to the planet while maintaining our way of life.
